Blacksnake Soccer, or Blacksnakes, is the club name for Blackfoot Youth Soccer Association (BYSA) in Blackfoot, Idaho.  BYSA is a non-profit youth organization for competitive soccer serving Blackfoot, Moreland, Firth, and surrounding communities.  Most players are from Blackfoot School District and Snake River School district boundaries, hence the club name Blacksnakes.

Blacksnakes players range from 4 years to 19 years of age. BYSA is governed by United States Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer, USClub Soccer and Idaho Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) and follows FIFA (International Federation of Football Association) laws of the game.

Blacksnake Soccer is formatted into different programs:

  • U4 - U10 Youth Development Program (YDP) - Spring (March - June) and Fall (August - October) seasons
  • U11 - U19 Club - Spring and Fall seasons
    • Junior High (Fall only)

League Play:

  • Blacksnakes YDP teams participate in the Gate City Youth Soccer YDP of Pocatello, Idaho. YDP soccer matches are played at NOP Park in Pocatello on Saturdays, with possible weeknight matches.
  • Blacksnakes Club teams participate in the Snake River League (District II) of the IYSA. Club teams (U11-U19) travel throughout Eastern Idaho/Western Wyoming (most games are in Blackfoot, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Rigby, and Rexburg) and have weeknight as well as Saturday games. All home matches are at the soccer fields across from Mountain View Middle School (MVMS).

Tournament Play:

  • BYSA strongly encourages Club teams to participate in club tournaments. Each club team is responsible for any tournament team and player fees (NOTE: tournament team and player fees are in addition to league player fees).  BYSA currently registers and insures players with USClub soccer, any team that wants to participate in the State Cup must register with IYSA.

BYSA accepts all players regardless of skill and most teams may not require "tryouts."
